FAQs

What is Coaching ?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

What is the Strategic Partnership ?

Coaches partner with clients to help determine goals and provide direction in achieving them by establishing a route to personal and professional success. The coaching environment provides a safe, confidential space for exploration and discovery. As clients deepen their connection with their inner wisdom, their unique  potential is unleashed and they are empowered to play at their peak.

How does coaching differ from consulting ?

A consultant is hired to give advice. In a coaching relationship, the client is the expert. Your coach will hold you accountable, provide objective perspectives, challenge you to think outside the box and come to your own valid conclusions.

What does the coach bring to the table ?

A strong coach works with you to define the questions you didn’t know how to ask yourself.  Your coach brings a myriad of tools and insights that get you thinking and moving in the right direction:

  • Partnering to Set Right Goals
  • Active Listening
  • Stimulating questions
  • Tools which induce reflection
  • Direction in Achievement of Goals

What are the benefits of Tele- or Skype- coaching ?

Practical and efficient, tele-coaching can be done from any location, no need to commute. It provides freedom – some clients find it easier to open up when the coach cannot see them as there is less chance of being judged on physical appearance.

What are the benefits of Face-to-Face coaching ?

Some clients enjoy the conviviality of face-to-face interaction. They feel it is easier to establish a relationship of trust. The choice is yours and methods can be chosen, mixed or switched according to your specific needs.

Duration and Frequency of Sessions ?

Most coaching programs last between 3 and 12 months. Sessions usually take place weekly (i.e. 3 weeks on, 1 week off or continuous ongoing meetings every week) for a period of 3-4 months. Some executives choose bi-weekly 90 minute sessions. A tailored package can be designed during the initial consultation after defining your needs.

How can you get the most out of your coaching sessions ?

  • Come to the session prepared
  • Have a clear idea of what you would like to accomplish during the session
  • Do what you committed to in the previous session
  • Keep an open mind, be willing to try new approaches, test limits and think outside the box
  • Remember: Everything is confidential. Be open and honest with your coach and yourself to obtain the best results.

Free trial ?

A complimentary discovery session is offered at the outset so that clients can form a concrete idea of what coaching can do for them. Trial coaching helps determine if the coach in question is the right coach for you and if coaching is the appropriate process for you at this time. There is no obligation to continue.

What if I sign up for a package and later feel coaching is not working for me at this time ?

You can stop the process at any time. Any unused sessions will be refunded to you.
